The whole interface now speaks in one warm typewriter voice. Chat floats directly over the world, panels follow the day into violet-blue night, and every major HUD surface has been redrawn to match.
New
- One voice everywhere. The title screen, windows, labels, and damage numbers use one warm monospace face.
- The interface follows the day. Panels, edges, and shadows deepen at night and return with the sun.
- The Ship's Log chat. Messages and combat entries float over the world, resting quietly as they age and waking when you interact.
- A redrawn title screen. The game's name appears in tracked gold over deep water-black.
Improved
- Windows use stamped uppercase headers, gold hairline rules, and warmer, rounder panels.
- The action bar is lighter on the world, and the minimap has a gold frame.
- Chat is wider by default so a full line of conversation fits the new face.
- Names, merchant signs, ferry banners, signposts, and elite badges match the interface palette.
- Damage numbers use parchment tones, with gold for critical hits.
Fixed
- Chat controls no longer paint a glass box behind conversation when hovered.
- Review scenes that landed in open water on the current charts now stage at Solis.
For the Product Manager
Scope
The Ship's Log revamp is client presentation work. It does not change shared simulation, server authority, or wire formats.
Typography and tokens
- Inter Variable and Geist were replaced by five self-hosted IBM Plex Mono faces at weights 400, 450, 500, 600, and 700, about 250KB total. Nine canvas text sites migrated to the same voice.
HUD_THEMEnow uses parchment ink, gold accents, day glass, solid window tiers, tighter radii, and contrast-tested danger text. All 28 registered contrast pairs measure at least 6.1; the worst is 6.17.- Seven CSS properties interpolate between pinned day and night endpoints at no more than 1Hz with a 0.02 epsilon and zero idle update cost.
Chat and interface
- Chat is chromeless in every state. A six-second settle tier reduces old lines to 40 percent and restores them on hover, focus, typing, or scrolling.
- Default log width increased from 340px to 400px, preserving about 51 characters per line.
- Windows, action bar, radar, nameplates, world labels, damage numbers, admin console, and gear lab now share the same typography and palette.
Repairs and verification
- Offline review radius increased from 1,200m to 1,250m so the analytic world's nearest elite camp is present in evidence.
- Review scenes formerly staged over water moved to stable Solis coordinates, and frozen-frame captures now synchronize previous state before rendering.
- Client coverage at the feature boundary recorded 205 files and 931 tests green, with phase typecheck, lint, build, admin byte identity, and production smoke green.
- Evidence under
review/v1.28/P1..P5includes 25 labeled captures across daylight states, chat states, boot, windows, nameplates, and real-pipeline damage numbers.
Adversarial review
A 44-agent review confirmed 13 findings, all fixed in the same session. Repairs include the combat log scrollbar, inherited blur behind log lines, bright-scene control contrast, missing admin fonts, radar palette alignment, and review coordinates invalidated by the analytic world.
Compatibility and deployment
The release follows an exact-head release branch, backup-first production swap, live HTTP, WebSocket, browser, storage and restart audits, and a CI-owned announcement after live verification. Archived historical wording remains unchanged where required.
